Weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment
ALL TESTING IS CONFIDENTIAL
Do you need to be tested? Ask yourself….
Have you had multiple sex partners? Have you had sex with men who have sex with men? Have you had anonymous partners? Have you exchanged sex for drugs or money? Have you injected drugs or steroids or shared equipment? Are you in the dark about your partner’s sexual history? Have you had unprotected sex with someone who could answer yes to any of these questions? Did you receive a blood transfusion or clotting factor between 1978 and 1985 and have never been tested before? If you answered yes to any of these questions, YES – you need to get tested.
REMEMBER: You may be infected and have no signs or symptoms. It is important to get tested if you have had any significant risks (listed above). One in five people are HIV+ and do not know it!
FREE HIV Testing
While we have to spend 5-10 minutes to collect some information to determine your risk, you will have your result in 15-20 minutes. This is finger stick test, using only a drop of blood. If your test is positive, it is called a preliminary positive and a second test will require a blood draw and will be sent to a lab for confirmation. If your test is confirmed to be positive, we will answer your questions, make appropriate referrals, and get you connected to medical care. Sometimes when receiving news of being positive it is hard to think of questions you have, so remember we are available for support and to answer questions at any time. You should feel free to call or come back in.
